Lessons can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes long, depending on your child's age, experience, and aspirations.
We begin the lesson by warming up the voice, and working on sound production and technique. Fun rhymes, tongue twisters and vocal exercises are used to prepare the body and voice. You may hear some funny noises coming out of the studio!
The second part of the lesson will be learning repertoire and performance! All songs will be taught using sheet music and piano accompaniment.
If there is something specific you would like me to work on with your child, I am happy to work out a personalised plan, or if they just want to have fun and learn their favourite Disney movie tunes, that's fine too!
Eisteddfods (competitions) and Exams are an amazing way to give your child a chance to work towards a goal! It is also a fantastic confidence booster, and they will meet many other singers.
I can prepare the more experienced singers for Amateur or Professional auditions if this is something they are working towards. Auditions are pretty intense so it is important to be prepared!
All of these options will be offered to you and your child when they are ready.
At the end of each semester, we present a mini-concert to give our singers a taste of the spotlight! These highlights give you a chance to appreciate how your child has progressed.
Students can also perform Duets or Trios in our mini-concerts, this provides a great challenge for more advanced singers.
From time to time, Melodic Minors students are invited to sing at community events. Another big confidence booster!
