Louise studied a Bachelor of Music, in Classical Voice at USQ in the late '90s before moving from Toowoomba to Brisbane to perform professionally. She has sung everything from Opera, to Musical Theatre, to Punk Rock! Louise still performs regularly around Brisbane with her Acapella group, and travelled to France in 2018 to sing in Villers-Bretonneux at the Armistice Day 100 year commemoration.
When teaching, Louise looks for the voice in each child that suits their age and ability. Songs are chosen very carefully to ensure lyrics and melodies are appropriate. Pop songs in general are never written for children to sing, so Louise finds other Contemporary and Music Theatre pieces that still 'bring the fun', especially for the younger students.
Louise is the Choral Director at St Rita’s College, Clayfied. She conducts 2 ensembles at the secondary college and teaches the young women that choral singing is COOL!
Voices of Birralee holds a special place in Louise's heart as it's where she fell in love with conducting and teaching many years ago. She currently is Conductor of The Birralee Singers alongside well known choral director and educator (and all round choir superstar), Paul Holley.
